Glorious Words

Words hold the key to the world around us.  If you don't believe me read the life story of Helen Keller. It was not until Anne Sullivan gave Helen the gift of words that she began to make sense of the dark silent world around her.

Words can make us happy, sad, angry or scared.
When was the last time you had a fight or made-up again without using words?
When was the last time you told a joke without words?

Words are the way we communicate and how we have FUN!

Here are some fantastic words. Try saying them out loud, use them in a sentence or just say them over and over. See if they don't make you smile.

New York Knickerbocker--This is just so much fun to say it doesn't matter what it means.

Scrumptious--It is one step better than yummy.

Languish/lanquid/languor--Why be bored if you can suffer from langour instead?

Nonsensical- The idea of this word not being in the dictionary is nonsensical, otherwise full of nonsense. Note it has nothing to do with being musical.

Quintessential--Words are a quintessential part of my life the very essence of my being.(essance is another great word!)

Barnacle--Do you have a little brother who won't leave you alone, who follows you everywhere you go? Is he being a bit of a barnacle?

Hubub- The noisy confusion that follows your announcement to move to Hollywood after your smashing success as Peter Pan in the school play, not to be confused with huba-huba,

Endoscopicretrogradecholangiopancreatography- This just might be the longest word in the English language. It is a medical test you really don't want to have done but if you learn how to say it,  it works better than supercalafragilisticexpialidocious for impressing people .
(try saying-- endo-scopic-retro-grade-cholangio-pancrea-togrophy)
